I have recently been asked how I choose a photographic medium, so I decided to take some time and really consider my process; here is what I came up with. 

Instagram —> Point and Grunt photos
Snapchat —> Point and Grunt photos for specific people (generally less appropriate)
Iphone Photos —> For my own recollection (insignificant memories but still worth collecting)
DSLR Photos —> High Quality photos for Tumblr, Facebook portraits, and most all of my professional work. 
Medium Format Film —> Project or socially relevant moments with potentially high print quality requirements. 
4x5 —> Important current project photos or hyper important personal moments. 

I have made photos that I love with all of these mediums. That is not equipment relevant.
